Read Carol's blog below from her visit to the INSET Day today:

I have just left the first part of today’s INSET day at Kingsham and I am buzzing! It was a really worthwhile session and it made me feel very privileged to be a governor at the school.

The purpose of the first part of the session was to revisit the school’s aims and values which are the foundation of everything that the school does. The school logo has the strapline underneath of: Aspire Learn Achieve but it is felt that these 3 words do not link that well to the school’s ethos and to the school’s crown learning values which are very much embedded and are valued and understood by the children. Lengthy but very worthwhile discussions took place as to how the strapline under the school’s logo could better represent the school’s ethos, crown learning values and the golden rules which are to be: Ready Safe and Respectful. No final decision was reached but further discussion will take place. If you have a view or opinion about this the school would very much like to hear from you.

The next part of the session allowed all the staff to contribute to the school’s Self-Evaluation document. There are five sections to this document: Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management and Early Years Provision. Year group teams were asked to list positives and areas of improvement for each section. There were loads and loads of positives to celebrate which reflect on all the staff’s commitment and drive to make Kingsham Primary School the best it can be for all the children. Some areas for development were also identified for each section in order to further improve our provision. All the contributions will now be collated into the school’s self-evaluation document.

I would like to say a massive well done to all the staff at KPS. The journey the school has been on is amazing and the future is looking very bright.
