On Monday 10th June, twelve Year Five Children went to Chichester Record Office. First Nicola and Jenny introduced themselves and told us about The Record Office and what we were going to do. Then we went to The Strong Room and they told us that they have 4 floors of millions of documents, the place that they keep the documents was kind of like a safe. A Strong Room is a place were they store lots of old documents and is fireproof. They own a Latin 1200 year old document which we saw on a photograph. We had a look at 8 different documents and then we completed a couple of worksheets and had a go at writing with quills ( feather pens) which was really hard. We thanked Nicola and Jenny and walked back to school.
